Appointments & Consultations

You can book using the contact us page, or by calling the practice at (09) 883 1390. We offer both in‑person and telehealth (video consultations) for patients across Auckland and New Zealand.

Complete the registration and pelvic pain/health questionnaire via the link emailed to you. If your referral does not include medical records, or if you are self-referring, please send your past surgical history (operation reports and surgical photos) and any clinic letters or recent test results (e.g., ultrasound, blood tests). This helps Dr Wynn‑Williams prepare for your initial consultation.

Yes! We provide telehealth consultations across New Zealand and the Pacific Islands. Telehealth is ideal for initial consultations if you live outside of Auckland. Follow-up and post-operative reviews can also be done by telehealth if appropriate.
Secure MS Teams is used for telehealth consultations.
A link to join the telehealth meeting will be sent on the day of the appointment.

No special preparation is needed for your gynaecological ultrasound.
You will be provided with information on ultrasound and a consent form to sign during your patient registration.
You do not need a full bladder for most endometriosis ultrasounds. Our team will guide you through the process on the day.

Initial consultations are booked for 45 minutes.
Follow up consultations are 30 mins
Post-operative reviews are 15 mins
Complex initial consultations are booked for 60 mins and attract an additional charge.

Dr Wynn-Williams consults from Advanced Gynaecology Auckland (AGA) practice on level 2 of Ascot Central building. Look for the Fertility Associates sign on the outside of the building.

Paid parking is available in the Ascot carpark. Enter from Ellerslie Racecourse Drive. Parking is pay-by-plate system with the first 30 minutes free however you must register your car registration on arrival in the park.

Dr Wynn-Williams uses Heidi AI scribe to transcribe all consultations. Information is included in the registration form and will ask for your consent to use Heidi.
Procedures & Treatment

Dr Wynn-Williams performs private surgery at Allevia Ascot Hospital in Reumuera.
Dr Wynn-Williams is the lead of Minimally Invasive Gynaecology Surgery (MIGS) at Auckland Hospital, where he provides public surgery.

The length of your stay in hospital depends on many factors including the type of procedure, your medical history, current medications and history of pelvic pain.
Many minor procedures can be done as day stay. Most larger procedures involve a one or two night stay in hospital.

Dr Wynn‑Williams offers minimally invasive surgical treatment for endometriosis, fibroids, ovarian cysts, abnormal bleeding, and pelvic pain through tailored procedures. You can view more information on our procedures pages.

Most patients recover within 2–4 weeks following laparoscopic and robotic procedures. For most surgeries, you can drive a car after a week.
Day surgery procedures usually require 1 or 2 days of recovery, depending on the procedure done.
Your pre-op consult will include personalised recovery guidelines based on your type of surgery.

Yes, in some cases fibroids or cysts may recur over time, depending on factors like age, hormones, and genetics. Surgical removal reduces symptoms significantly, but follow-up and long-term management may still be needed, especially if future fertility is a goal.

Both are minimally invasive procedures, but robotic hysterectomy allows greater precision using robotic-assisted instruments. It may be recommended for more complex cases or where enhanced dexterity improves outcomes. Recovery times are similar, and your suitability will be assessed during your consultation.
Telehealth & Virtual Care

Our encrypted telehealth video calls via Microsoft (MS) Teams allow secure, remote one-on-one appointments. You’ll receive a link via email and no special software is required, just a private space and internet access. You can use your phone or any device with a camera and a microphone.

Telehealth is ideal for initial consultations if you live out of Auckland, reviewing diagnostic imaging or test results, post-operative check-ins, and discussing treatment options. However, procedures and physical examinations will still require an in-person visit when clinically necessary.

Choose a quiet, private space with a stable internet connection. Have your discussion points/questions ready. You’ll receive a secure link by email the day before or on the day of your appointment. Contact the rooms if you are having any issues.
Insurance, Billing & Fees

We are affiliated with Southern Cross and NIB for consultations. For all other insurance providers, we ask you to pay on the day, and you can claim the funds back.
For surgical procedures, we will provide you with cost estimates to submit to your insurance provider for prior approval.

Self-insured (uninsured) requesting private surgery will be provided with a comprehensive informed financial consent.

Unfortunately, we cannot offer patient payment plans.
Uninsured patients who require surgery can be referred to their local public hospital.
If you are self-funding surgery, all estimated costs must be paid in full prior to hospital admission.
