Dr Wynn-Williams elected president of The Australasian Gynaecological Endoscopy and Surgery (AGES) Society for 2025-27
Dr. Michael Wynn-Williams has achieved a significant milestone by becoming the first New Zealander to hold the role of President of The Australasian Gynaecological Endoscopy and Surgery (AGES) Society, marking a historic achievement for New Zealand’s representation in Australasian gynaecological surgery leadership. Having previously served as Vice-President and been elected to the AGES Board in 2017 as the New Zealand representative, Dr. Wynn-Williams brings extensive experience to this prestigious position, including his role as a Training Director of the Auckland AGES Advanced Training Program (AATP) and founder and chair of the AGES Laparoscopic Anatomy Pelvic Dissection (LapD) education program.
His presidency represents the culmination of years of dedicated service to AGES, during which he has been instrumental in advancing minimally invasive gynaecological surgery education and training throughout Australia and New Zealand. As President of this premier gynaecological surgical association representing the majority of practicing gynaecologists across both countries, Dr. Wynn-Williams continues AGES’ 34-year mission to promote the safest and highest standards of clinical and minimally invasive surgical care for women through education, surgical training, and clinical research, while strengthening the society’s links throughout the Asia-Pacific region and fostering international collaborations.
